Important Information About Paper Princess Weekends
SWAP TABLE: There will be a community table where you can put things you don’t use and swap them for things that other people don’t use. Very often, you will find some real treasures on those tables.
SALE TABLES: If anyone has more valuable items, in new or good condition, you may set them on top of one of the book cases for people to see. This is intended as a way to sell things you are no longer using. We will provide you with a card that tells your table number, which you can put next to your goodies, so that people can buy the items from you. Pre-price your items, for best results. (This is not intended for vendors and demonstrators. If you would like to sell something as a “professional” please contact us for details. There is no charge, but we must know in advance.)
ELECTRICAL USAGE: There will not be electrical outlets available for every table. First come, first served. If you choose to take advantage of a nearby electrical outlet in the room, you must secure your own electrical cord to the floor with your own duct tape only (pink duct tape is especially pretty for princesses).
FOOD and BEVERAGES: Due to the fact that everyone's photos and paper crafting supplies are spread out around the room, there will be NO open drink containers allowed in the room. Please make sure all your drinks, beverages and consumables are in a covered cup or a screw cap bottle. Complimentary water and ice will be available throughout the weekend. Alcoholic beverages cannot be displayed openly and drinking of alcoholic beverages should be kept to a respectable minimum. No loud vulgarities and rude behavior will be tolerated. Constant giggling and giddiness is acceptable, no matter what is consumed. Individual snacks and treats are provided.
You may take snacks to your table, but we do not take responsibility for clumsy eaters. You get chocolate on your cardstock, it is your problem! Oh, and remember that calories don’t count during Paper Princess Weekend!
CROP TABLES: Due to the fact that everyone brings a lot of crafting crap to this sort of event, we ask that you respect the aisle space between the tables, and keep your crap condensed and as close to your table as possible. Fire codes and other safety issues do not tolerate any clogging of walkways and doorways.
CHILDREN: Children, babies, toddlers, preschoolers, ankle-biters or other assorted young humans (or any-aged animals) are not allowed at the event for an extended period of time. A quick visit by family members is fine, but we do not want them to be in the event for longer than that. Many women look upon these events as a chance to “get away” from daily life, not take a peek into yours!
HUSBANDS / SIGNIFICANT OTHERS: While men are permitted to visit the event for a short period of time (especially at the set-up and clean up portions of the weekend), they should be forewarned that they may be taunted and will be teased. Hearing cries such as “Stripper is in the room!” is quite likely once they walk through the door. Fair warning!
DIRECTIONS TO THE SCHOOL: From Highway 17, take the Exit to 130 West (toward Whiteville). Go about a half a mile and the school will be on the right. Take the last entrance to the school (Bus Parking) and drive to the far end of the school towards the “portable” classrooms. The entrance to the library is on the far left hand corner of the building (as you look at the building from the street). DIRECTIONS TO BRUNSWICK VILLAS: From the school, take 130 East about a half mile and turn right to get onto Highway 17 South. Brunswick Villas is in Brunswick Plantation, on the right, about ten miles south on Highway 17.
